Burn The Wood was serendipitously founded in the Fall of 2020 by Atlanta native, Jeremy Levison.  With the Covid-19 pandemic in full swing, people were spending more and more time at home.   People’s homes, especially their outdoor living spaces, had become a refuge and sanctuary to spend quality time with friends and family.

As the crisp autumn weather began to roll in, Jeremy, the son of a Boy Scout, was looking to make the perfect fire.  Jeremy purchased wood from his father’s source, but quickly realized he had a big problem.   He could not get the wood to catch fire!  His father insisted that Jeremy was “doing it wrong” like most fathers do.  His father came over the next day and began showing Jeremy the “Boy Scout way” to build fire.  However, on the first try, even he was unable to get the logs to light.  He tried kindling, newspaper and even relegated to turning the gas on, but still the wood would not catch.   The result was not even a Boy Scout could get green wood (though sold as “seasoned wood”) to light.  It had too much moisture!!  This “sparked” the idea for Jeremy to find and source the best wood possible.  He quickly found that the best wood was Kiln Dried because that type of wood had less than 10% moisture, allowing the wood to light easier and burn hotter with less smoke. Thus BURN The Wood was born!

From this simple idea BURN the Wood has grown to become the premier source for Kiln-Dried firewood, cooking wood, pizza wood, and so much more.  We encourage you to give our kiln dried wood a shot, and we are confident you will never go back to using inferior wood.  Happy Burning!
